Sinusitis 

Sinusitis is an inflammation or swelling of the tissue lining the sinuses. Before treatment can be administered, a skin test is usually given. Skin Testing is a highly effective way to determine exactly what you are allergic to.

What Happens During a Skin Test?

To help you avoid allergic reactions, we first need to know what you're allergic to. Skin testing is a safe way to figure out or confirm what's causing your symptoms.

Skin tests use extracts -- a concentrated liquid form -- of common allergens such as foods, dust mites, pollen, mold, and animal dander to name a few. Once the allergen gets placed on your skin, if you are allergic to it, it would trigger a rash. Your skin will get irritated and may itch, feeling like a mosquito bite.

That reaction is how we can tell you're allergic to that substance.
