 Acne may be quite common, but it’s still extremely unpleasant for many patients. The medical name for this condition is acne vulgaris, but you may call your skin problems blackheads, whiteheads, pimples, or zits. With mild acne, a patient will just have a few pimples here and there, usually on the face. However, in severe cases, a patient may have hundreds of pimples on the face, neck, back, and chest.

 Most people experience acne in their teens, and many outgrow it when they reach adulthood. When your body’s immune system finds the germs, it reacts by making the area red, swollen, and filled with pus to fight the germs off.
